Cecil Wade Wilcox, 62, a resident of Delano, passed away Monday, Nov. 30, 2009, in a local hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elzie James Wilcox and Velmer Ruth Headen Wilcox; brother, Jearld Leon Wilcox; and two infant sisters.
Survivors include his loving wife of six years and companion of thirty years, Susie Jones Wilcox; son, Doug Wilcox; daughter, Nikki Wilcox Coleman; stepsons: Leon Banks and wife, Robin, and Brian Banks; grandchildren: Danielle Wilcox, Buck Wilcox, Cody Banks and Shawn Kerr; sister, Ann Lou Wilcox Rymer and husband, Odean; and brothers: Harold Wilcox and wife, Elaine, Dan Wilcox and wife, Bonnie, Bruce Wilcox, Darrius Wilcox and wife, Sue, Vic Wilcox and wife, Sandy and Hubert Wilcox and wife, Lidia.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home of Etowah with the Rev. Wilford Wright and the Rev. Charles Moore officiating.
Interment will follow in Towee Falls Cemetery with Eric Jones, Jeff Wilcox, Chris Rymer, Buck Wilcox, Drew Rymer, Wayne Jones, Timmy Wilcox and Rodney Wilcox serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be James Gibbs, Darrell Gibbs, John Ellis and Berry Jones.
A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 Wednesday at the funeral home.
