Eunice Blackwell

Eunice Christine Blackwell, 77, a resident of Decatur, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2010, in a Chattanooga hospital. She was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church in Ooltewah. She enjoyed playing on a bowling league. Her parents, Floyd and Ethel Henderson Redmon, preceded her in death as well as two daughters: Norma Davis and Eva Mae Raley. She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Albert Redmon and Clifford Redmon.

She is survived by her husband, Ed Blackwell of Decatur; three sons: Carl Blackwell, Ralph Blackwell and wife Lugene, all of Decatur, and Larry Blackwell of Ooltewah; five grandchildren: James Blackwell, Edward Blackwell, Travis Davis, Daniel Raley and Starla Raley; four great-grandchildren: Kutler Blackwell, Karrah Blackwell, Jaden Blackwell, and Bryleigh Blackwell; one sister, Cora Mae Woodfin of Fort Oglethorpe, GA; two brothers: Jimmy Redmon of Ooltewah, and Robert Redmon of Chattanooga; two step grandchildren: Ashlei Lawson and Wesley Lowry; three step great-grandchildren: Nichole and Scott Lawson and Carly McGarry ; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home of Etowah with Pastor David Collman officiating. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens in Chattanooga.

Her family will begin receiving friends at the funeral home after 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 15, 2010.
