Hugh Ronald “Buckshot” Hicks
Hugh Ronald “Buckshot” Hicks, age 65, of Benton, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2010 at his residence after fighting an eight years battle with cancer. He was a member of Greasy Creek Baptist Church and he loved Nascar, Hunting and Fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents Leland and Nora Hicks, grandson Seth Clay Hicks and a brother-in-law Kenneth Satterfield.
Survivors include his wife Bobbie Hicks of the home, children Ron Hicks and wife Hannah of Benton, Lesa McCracken and husband Mitchell of Charleston, Elizabeth Godfrey and husband Scott of Cleveland, Larry Bledsoe and wife Jada of Delano, Tonyia Norwood and husband Alan of Tellico and Carol Maloney of Benton; sister and brothers Nellie Satterfield of Cleveland, Ralph Hicks and wife Margie of Cleveland, James Hicks and wife Geraldine of Cleveland and Carl Hicks and wife Mae of Dickson; several grandchildren and great grandchildren special nephews Kenny Satterfiled and Carroll Lawson several other nieces and nephews survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday evening at 8:00 pm from the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home of Etowah with Rev Floyd Boggess and Rev Carroll Lawson officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Cemetery Tuesday morning at 11:00 am with a white dove release ceremony.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 until the funeral hour.
