Gwendolyn Fay Risser
Gwendolyn Fay Risser, 39, of Athens, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2010 at her home. She was born May 22, 1970 in Hagerstown, MD. She was a wife, mother and homemaker. She was known by her family and friends as one who gives without thought of herself. Her highest values were her relationships with God and family. Her thoughtfulness, hospitality and mothering will be sorely missed by her family and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ray Martin.
She is survived by her husband, Eric Risser to who she was married on June 3, 1989; two daughters, Allisha Risser (16) and Dana Risser (12); one son, Weston Risser (8); mother, Hazel Martin of Mill Hall, PA; one sister, Tresa Martin of Waynesboro, GA; and two brothers, Brian Martin of Mill Hill, PA and Dwight Martin of Fort Francis, Ontario.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 14, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Howard Brubaker, Pastor Sheldon Risser and Pastor Verlon Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Wellspring Mennonite Church Cemetery. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
